The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

We Are All Spiritual Beggers

22And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. 28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.  (Matthew 15 KJV).

We are all spiritual beggers.  We are unworthy people seeking God’s help.  This woman from Canaan came to Jesus because her daughter was possessed with a devil.   Jesus did not speak to her right away.  The disciples did not seem to handle it rightly because they wanted her to go away; that is, she was crying after them.   Jesus said He was sent to the lost sheep Israel but she worshipped Him and cried out to Him.  This phrase here uttered by our Lord Jesus “It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.”  But she responded in faith that she eats the crumbs from her master’s table, and Jesus responded that she had great faith and her daughter was healed that very hour.   We are all like this woman that begged the Lord for healing, but the request must be a determined request through a faith that is kindled from above.
