The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Hypocrisy, Sin, Judgement and Forgiveness

Some people live in hypocrisy; that is, they are one way in  public and another way in secret.  We ought to see the judgement hand of Christ upon them to discipline them to set them straight.  Some think the Lord does not see them in their hidden life.  Judgment brings exposure by a masking-wearing people.  It's not the same thing to repent and renew obedience in contrast to living in sin with no repenting obedience.  We ought not to excuse our sins because it can bring judgement or chastening from our Heavenly Father.  Who can stand before a holy God?  Only everyone clothed in His matchless righteousness imputed to us by empty hands of faith alone will stand.
If you find ourselves a hypocrite, we should start by acknowledging that Jesus alone and His blood and righteousness gets us to heaven and that only; however, living for Jesus is a demonstration of His grace-filled power over sin to conform us to His image by His Spirit and Word.  We ought to come to the Lord with no threat of condemnation, because He always takes us back; however, we ought not abuse His riches of His grace; that is, may we live in a happy balance of prayer and Bible reading and sermon-hearing.  Let us occupy our time not with idleness but with the Lord and fill our day with Him.  Everything in secret will one day be brought to light, but we ought to lay our sins down at the Cross and leave them with Jesus.  Flee hypocrisy and pursue holiness, peace and hope in righteous living not adding to His perfect work of His passive and active obedience but using it as the grounds for how we are right with God to live faithfully to Him.  If we find ourselves falling into sin, run to Jesus and beg pardon.  Purify your hearts and clean your hands ye double-minded!  Let us not be double-minded people but live because we have been forgiven of our sins.
Acquittal only comes through the Redeemer; that is, everyone make your calling and election sure.  We ought to pray for each other that are calling and election is found in Christ and that it is a sure thing.  We ought to never take chances and sin against God.  May we rejoice that we have a Savior that not only saves us from sin but that makes us holy through His Spirit.  Amen.
