The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Calvinism IS the Gospel

T:  The Bible speaks of our total depravity in sin in Romans 3:
10As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17And the way of peace have they not known: 18There is no fear of God before their eyes. 19Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
U:  The Bible speaks about unconditional election in Romans 9:
11(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
L:  The Bible speaks about particular redemption in Matthew 1:
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
I:  The Bible speaks about irresistible grace in Titus 3:5:

5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
P:  The Bible speaks about being kept by Jesus Christ in Jude 1:
To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ: 2 May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.
We ought to conclude that we are dead in sin (Ephesians 2) but God elected us before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4) and He died for the everyone of His people (Matthew 20:28).  He makes us born again (John 3) and keeps us to Himself (John 6:34-39).  This is the essence of the Gospel.
     We must know we are sinners and totally incapable of saving ourselves.  We must know that God has chosen a people unto Himself through His Son Jesus Christ.  This is the essence of free grace.  We must know that Jesus died for all the believing ones, and He gives us new hearts to believe.  We must know that He is not done with us but will see us through to the end.  Amen to His Gospel of free grace!
