The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Pleasing God and Heaven

It is like heaven to please God while we live in a sinful and dark world.  We ought to pray what God would have us to be.  We ought to pray that we would be holy, pure and perfect as God is.  These are the best commands in His book of books.  We ought not to break His commands but obey them.  We are under no obligation to break His commands.  We ought to trust and obey.
Woe to us that we grieve a blessed God as the God of the Bible, for He is infinite in goodness, grace and blessedness!  Our hearts offend Him and we would do well to obey Him.  Sin is so deep in us that we go astray.  I hate sin and may God prevail!  We sin continually before Him, but He is continually tenderhearted and forgiving us in His blessed graciousness.
We sometimes think we can bear any suffering due to our sin.  But how are we to dishonor our tenderhearted Lord Jesus?  We ought to continually obey Him instead of disobeying Him.  We obey by His grace.  We ought to worship the best of beings!  What can we offer to Him that lives forevermore?  We ought to pray to consecrate our body and soul to Him without restraint.  We ought to give ourselves up to Him.  We are not our own and any claim that we are our own is false.  It is the Lord who owns us.  We ought to pray that our will and affections are completely and perfectly conformed to His will and love.  But we cannot live and not sin!  That does not mean we should give in to our sins, but trust God.
O may angels glorify Him incessantly, and, if possible, prostrate themselves lower before the blessed King of heaven! I long to bear a part with them in ceaseless praise; but when I have done all I can to eternity I shall not be able to offer more than a small fraction of the homage that the glorious God deserves. Give me a heart full of divine, heavenly love.   (Consecration and Worship, The Valley of Vision).
