The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

We Ought to Comprehend God's Goodness

We ought to say the table grace, "God is great, God is good.  And we thank Him for this food."  The word that captured His greatness and goodness is His holiness.  We ought to understand that holiness means to be set apart.   God is in a class by Himself; that is, He is set apart.

God is the most majestic and adored being.  There is One God revealed in Three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is called holy because He helps us with sanctification to make us holy.  The Lord makes us holy through the reading and preaching of His Word applied to us through the Spirit and grace.

We ought to respond to His goodness and greatness with faith and godliness and holiness and uprightness.  We may find ourselves transgressing, but the Lord is faithful.  The Lord forgives us of our sins when we repent and He loves us with an everlasting love.  He is good and we praise Him for His goodness.

Help us O Lord to continue to repent of our sins.  Help us O Lord to love one another and not to hate each other.  Lord, I have repented of all my sin but Jesus saves to the uttermost.  Lord, deliverance us from people who reject repentance.  I do not reject repentance ever.  We thank You dear Lord for Your goodness and greatness that is Your holiness. Amen.
