God judged Eli in the case of the OT. He was judge and priest in Israel. He was a holy and godly man; however, his sons were sinners, wicked and profaned the Lord's house. Eli did not do a sufficient job of retraining his sons according to God.
Can we say what Eli said when he understood the judgment of God upon his house (1 Samuel 3:18)? He said, "It is the Lord. Let Him do what seems good to Him." We ought to say this when we face difficult times. Can you? Are you able to say this by God's grace?
We ought to rebuke sin when it comes about in our lives. Have you rebuked sin when it faces you? Do you have a care for God's holy law? Are you motivated by God's grace to set things right in the presence of God? May we do what is right in God's presence. Amen.
This blog web site is for the in-depth, sound and basic exegetical study of the Bible in Reformed apologetics; that is, I shall expound upon the inerrant and infallible Word of God, the Holy Scriptures. There shall be biblical studies in world religions and non-Christian cults. I also quote and research reformed writers and I am happy to study from them. May the Lord bless everyone who reads this blog with spiritual riches in Christ which is His imputed merit by faith alone.
The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!
