The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Chapter 1:    Sincerity and Simplicity

Christians approach the Eucharist and behold Christ the Lord.  Christians ought to approach the Divine Word with a sacred sincerity.  The Bible is God speaking to mankind, because it is His divine revelation.
We ought to have simplicity of thought, because we really understand what we say when we teach and behold children.  It is a sacred simplicity.
Sincerity is a way to approach the Divine Scripture in an honest manner, because we must learn the truth of the Spirit and live according to it.  Simplicity is not a contradiction to in-depth study of the Word of God, because we must have the basics down so as a little child could understand.
Let us walk in the way of sincerity and simplicity, because we are in God’s presence and we ought to bless His name.  As a child the little Lord Jesus asked questions to His leadership of the local church, and He knew the essence of good science is simplicity.
Are you sincere and can you explain complex theological formulas to a small child?

Chapter 2:    Dedication and Diligence

Christians might approach a sport with dedication and diligence, because we strive after excellence.  Excellence is the pursuit of every Christian, because we seek to give God glory in His highest way.  We must strive after a spirit of determination, because it is an element of dedication and diligence.
We must study the Word of God with dedication and diligence, because it is the pathway to success; however, short-cuts only hinder our journey.  We are called not to a study of trickery or craftiness, but a study of truth and righteousness.  Let us embark on a serious journey of our high calling in Christ the Lord, because it is our delightful duty to behold Christ and His presence in reading and studying the Word of God.
Samuel of the Old Testament was trained up in the things of Christ, because like the little Christ who asked question; Samuel was a child who spent His time in the temple of God.  We must be devoted to the principles of the Divine Word, because it is central to the meaning of life.
Do you possess marks of dedication and diligence?

Chapter 3:    Humility and Wisdom

Humility is the essence of surrounding ourselves to God, because His truth will communicate to us His wisdom in His Divine Word.  The Christian is called to divine wisdom, because the essence of the Word of God is all about divine wisdom.   Let us humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand, because the Incarnate Christ as Divine Humility and Wisdom lived a life no mere man could live; a life of sinless devotion.
Do you possess marks of humility and wisdom?

Chapter 4:    Passion and Love
Passion is the essence of a loving-devotion to God and His Word, because He gives us the spirit of love toward His Word.  We must love the Word of God, because it is His truth that sheds light on a dark path.  The dark path is the sin of the world, because we see how Christ has changed us; however, let us not love the vanity of merely learning truths of His Word: let us live out our faith as life itself.
Do you possess marks of passion and love?

Chapter 5:    The Holy Ghost and His Theology

The Holy Ghost is the key to your study, because some people enter seminary unconverted.  I had a genuine interest in the things of God, but it was an unconverted interest.  We are called to have a spirit that is changed by the Holy Ghost, because only He can illumine our minds and change our hearts.
The Holy Spirit changes our hearts in regeneration, because only then will we have a saving knowledge of Him who came and shed His blood on the ancient Cross.  Theology should not be treated like any other thing, because the Holy Spirit is the Author of the Word of God.  Theology is a sacred science; however, in order to really and fully grasp the things of God it is meant to be an actualized faith and repentance.
Repentance is a spiritual knowledge that is the way we communicate to God our failings and how we missed the mark on His individual commandments.  The Ten Commandments and the New Testament Commands are where we ought to dwell, because by His kindness and Spirit we gain conviction of sin to repent by faith.
Do you have the Holy Ghost and do you practice your theology?

Chapter 6:    Practical Godliness and Knowledge

Do we have a practical righteousness and knowledge?  Do you act, think and speak righteously?  Practical godliness is knowledge of sin and a submission of the will to God in contrite and genuine repentance.  Godliness is holy piety lived out in life, because the knowledge of the holy should bring us to our knees.
Do you have practical godliness and knowledge?

Chapter 7:    Be a God-fearing Student

Every student should be a God-fearing student, because it is better then beauty, riches and fame.  Are you God-fearing?  Do you sin throughout the day and have no repentance with your living before the face of God?  Have you studied hours of theology and yet lack the greatest of all spiritual treasures?
A God-fearing heart can be mistaken for a unconverted devotion to theology, but a God-fearing repentance that occurs every second you sin is a demonstration of the Spirit’s work of making your spiritually alive.  Christians sometimes miss sin as it passes through their minds, but always be cautious in the mind God has given you to come back to yourself and repent.
Do you possess a God-fearing heart before God?

Chapter 8:    Follow After the Study-Habits of Christ

A Christian is someone is changed by God in His heart, because living waters come forth to the spiritual desert.  After God has changed our hearts we can study His Word with good habits of devotion, because His Word is life, and my life is His.
The genius of the Bible was through holy men of old by the Holy Spirit, because it is meant for us and our children.  Let us be like Christ; for He listened and asked questions!  The essence of a disciple is the pursuit of learning.
Are your study-habits producing a higher godliness in you this day?

“And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions” (Luke 2:46).

And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD” (1 Samuel 2:21).
