The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Chapter 1:      Subject to Governing Authorities

Every person is called by the Holy Spirit to be subject to the governing authorities; that is, Christians are called to obey ever law; however, it also refers to times of duty in military service but its focus is on laws that govern the land; that is, Christians are called to pay their taxes on time, and to obey the speed limit; however, any rejection is sin against the civil magistrate and the God of the Bible; that is, we are called to be obedient citizens of the law, and be known as law-abiding citizens; however, subjection also refers to a compliance to the righteousness, justice and truth of every law; that is, let us walk as a perfect person would conduct themselves; however, when we fail at going a little over the speed limit because we are in a hurry, we should reflect and repent; that is, subjection refers to the Word of God to obedience, capacity and reverence to the governing authorities.

Chapter 2:      Appointed by God

The governing authorities are appointed by God; however, they are not the ultimate authority; that is, the ultimate authority is God Himself; however, we are called to subject ourselves in respectful obedience to the laws of the land; that is, the appointment of God is to govern society with lawful obedience; however, God appointed the civil magistrate for lawfulness and an orderly society; that is, one may argue rebellion against the God of Romans 13 concerning the governing authorities that may mean a threat against the governing authorities; however, when the civil magistrate ordains something contrary to the Divine Word, it refers to a rejection of Statism; that is, the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ were appointed by God to proclaim His Word but the governing authorities rejected devotion to the Lord Christ; however, the improperness lies with the civil magistrate and not God’s people; that is, the civil magistrate was appointed by God and it is subject to God but it is not higher then God Himself.

Chapter 3:      Resistance and Judgment

Resistance is judgment by God the Holy Trinity; that is, breaking the laws of the land is a sign of an evildoer; however, judgment happens upon resistance through a rebellion of some kind; that is, those who break the laws of the land will be held accountable; however, the accountability is held in judgment because of resistance but the resistance can be forgiven through the appointment of discernment with the basis of righteousness; that is, mercy and judgment both have a discernment factor, but righteousness is the foundation to the implantation of both but the negation of righteousness is resistance unto judgment; however, the abuse of resistance should render an excess of judgment and it is ultimate disobedience to the Kingship of the Lord Christ.

Chapter 4:      Good, Evil and Praise

The good is commanded by God in the outworking of the civil magistrate; however, the evil is forbidden by God in the outworking of the civil magistrate; that is, praise is not rendered to the evil but to the good; however, those who think good and evil are from the same source distort and confuse the democratic allegiance to the governing authorities; that is, good is good and evil is evil; however, goodness alone should be acceptable to the subjects of the civil magistrate but evil must be shunned; that is, the state praises its people for obedience not disobedience; however, praise never comes from disobedience but only from rebels; that is, Satanists wrote to a pastor and prayed for their divorces; however, Justin the Martyr wrote of the sexual purity of Christian people; that is, only rebels seek a society of chaos, planned crisis and degradation of the foundation of society concerning the family; that is, without the traditional family evil is encouraged with a devaluing of praise of goodness.

Chapter 5:      Instrument of Goodness

Subjects of society must be an instrument of goodness; that is, goodness is obedience to the law of the land; however, abortion is rightly rejected by Christian subjects of the civil magistrate; that is, righteous laws should be obeyed righteously, and all of us are to be an instrument of righteousness; however, if breaking the speed limit happens it is good to repent of it, or, if someone cheats on their taxes repentance is also an instrument of goodness; that is, let righteousness by His Word and His Spirit control us in conformity to the everlasting Son of Man; however, the instrument of goodness is produced by the adherence to the Word of Obedience; that is, God is the ultimate standard of goodness and the civil magistrate is a subordinate authority under God’s supreme authority unto righteousness, truth and justice.

Chapter 6:      Bearing the Sword

Bearing the sword is for those who rebel against the civil magistrate; that is, it is the responsibility to obey it but those who disobey will incur the wrath of the sword; however, there is compassion where compassion is needed and required; that is, through righteous discernment the governing authorities render due justice; however, bearing the sword should not be through disobedience by the civil magistrate but should mirror the blameless righteousness of God the Holy Trinity; that is, such righteousness can be obtained but only through the true understanding of the Divine Word; however, rejection of the supremacy of the Word of God over an improper handling of the civil magistrate will led to violations of the rights of human subjects; that is, the governing authorities should have the best interest of their citizens unto a just righteousness, and nothing should pervert it.

Chapter 7:      Wrath on Evil

Wrath on evil is a sign of the fulfillment of righteous justice; however, the abuse of law will yield a greater crime rate; that is, through the secrecy of abusing the law through a hidden practice is some kind of treason by law makers; however, the absence of wrath will yield a law transformed into a hidden malice of criminality in practice, and even the pursuit of law itself will in some way be less respected and upheld; that is, the presence of wrath on evil is the fruition of a just justice; however, even a delay of just justice may yield a greater threat to the governing authorities and their citizens; that is, the governing authorities must keep the hidden exercise of law in their own practices a purity unless they would distort their process of law; however, if the process of law is distorted the outcome may also be distorted unless it yields to righteous correction; that is, wrath on law-breakers of any kind should be a public example that awakens people to just and holy fear to obey the laws of the land upon due threat of holy wrath; however, because capital punishment is forbidden it has supplied criminals with a future in the continuation of lawlessness; that is, when cometh the wrath?

Chapter 8:      Love and Law

Love is devotion to righteousness, and law is the fulfilling of obedience of that righteousness; however, the governing authorities should not cause burdens for their citizens but simplicity and law go hand-in-hand; that is, the greater the simplicity the greater the happiness for every citizen; however, love should be projected unto law, and law’s basis should be love; that is, if love and law are separated it yields to a procrastination, or, a delayed obedience; however, delayed obedience is sin, but love that produces obedience to law is commendable before God and man; that is, law is necessary for order and structure, and it is an antidote to chaos; however, a criminal devotion to lawlessness is a love born of evil; that is, it is love in some level of right righteousness that makes a society govern and work for the happiness of its citizens; however, love is the essence of devotion, and obedience is the essence of law.

Chapter 9:      Make No Provision for the Flesh

The Bible gives Christians a command to make no provision of the flesh; that is, the flesh speaks of rebellion to God’s divine law, but it must never be obeyed; however, the flesh yields judgment, crisis and suffering; that is, provisions for the flesh speak of wrongdoing, unrighteousness, ungodliness and pain caused by sin; however, the oppositeness of the flesh is all manner of righteousness, godliness and goodness; that is, there is a uncommendable commendable in a negative righteousness that yields to the advancement of right righteousness to gray areas, but to the criminal mind these can be badly abused through exploitation and manipulation of the innocent; however, the flesh constitutes and congeners evil depravity that is contrary to the law-abiding furtherance of Romans 13; that is, the flesh yields corruption but reprobates and Christians are called to make provisions for a good righteousness that is contrary to breaking the law through sin.

Chapter 10:    An Answer to the Seduction of Sin

The answer to the seduction of sin is the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; however, Balaam sought to use the burnt offerings for the advancement of sin; that is, there are people who would use it to further lawlessness, but this is contrary to the uses of the Once and For All Offering of Jesus the Inherent One; however, the life of Christ was not lived in sin, but a righteous adhering to the laws of the land; that is, when Christ was taxed He paid it through the apostle Peter by the miracle of a fish with a coin in its mouth; however, the life and death of Christ the Inherent One is the means of the fruition  of sacred goodness, righteousness, justice and truth; that is, after sin is committed, it must be confronted by repentance unto obedience to Christ; however, we are commanded unto all joy and happiness to walk as He walked in all newness of life.  Amen.

Let the laws of the land be obeyed
Where truth and righteousness are adorned in holy array
And love of law and brother is held in high display

People gather on Sunday morn with a book
That speaks of the love of obedience
And a shining face of happiness bound in goodness

Law-breakers yield to lawlessness
Like wolves after a vulnerable prey
But goodness shines better then they
Because of the Word most obeyed

A time approaches of God’s presence and devotion
A memorable sight of height in law-keeping ways
And the sight is blessed by the Blessed One
That shares His Word of glistening
Sights of citizens who shine like light.

Amen and amen.
