Chapter 1: Ordained All Things
The Bible speaks of the preordination of all things (Ephesians 1:11, “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will” KJV). That is, there is nothing that is not predestined, because foreordination brings purpose to all things; however, the sin of God’s people is also ordained for their good, but the enemies of the Reformed faith would use it as an excuse to sin; that is, predestination touching positive election is unto eternal life; however, there is also nothing in life that is meaningless; because, God gives meaning to all things; that is, the smallest stone on the street has cosmic meaning, and if such is true for such a thing as that, it is also much more established for the human race; however, how does someone explain a catastrophe with purpose if foreordination is taken out of the way? That is, the positive way to look at it is that all things are ordained for the good of the Christian (Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” KJV). There is nothing that God does not send to the Christian that does not proceed from a holy God: He deeply cares and all things come through His hands of a mercying-tenderness that conforms us by His Spirit to His Son’s image (Romans 8:29, “For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren” KJV).
Chapter 2: Reprobative Choice
(Acts 1:25, “That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place” KJV). The God of the Bible is angry with wicked reprobates everyday (Psalm 7:11, “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked everyday” KJV). The anger of God is a hatred of the wickedness of man, and He is eternally anger with the reprobate throughout life and eternity; however, He hides the Gospel from those with whom He is pleased to do so (Matthew 11:25-26, “At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight” KJV). The Lord of heaven and earth withheld repentance, for this was in accord with His Reprobative Decree; that is, the doctrine of opportunity concerning repentance is taken away and the Reprobative Decree established (Matthew 11:20-28, “Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee. At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (KJV).
Chapter 3: Diligence, Sincerity, and Humility
(John 15:16, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” KJV).
The doctrine of predestination gives us motivation to diligence of God’s holy Word; that is, contrary to popular opinion it gives us strength that all has true meaning that is set forth by a loving Heavenly Father.
The doctrine of predestination gives us sincerity to see the outworking of God’s awesome and loving hand in every detail of life; however, trails and tribulation does not harm us in light of His caring hand of the blessings of hope, faith and love.
The doctrine of predestination gives us humility to understand that all is from His hand; however, contrary to popular opinion predestination does not give us arrogance but a on-going softening of the heart in recognition that we are not something like the center of the universe touching our fallible, feeble and frail ways as mere human beings.
Chapter 4: The Almighty Holy Trinity
God the Holy Trinity is the One who ordained all things; that is, from the smallest dust particle to the major events in people’s lives; however, no mere human person ever ordained anything like the Three in One ordained from eternity past; that is, within the interpersonal Trinity He ordained whatsoever comes to pass; however, He is not the author of sin, but He is holiness itself; that is, all things work from the Father through the Son by His Spirit; however, He has the right to decide what is and what is not; that is, He decides the time of trouble and the times of peace; however, sin is ordained through second causes, and that means the blame does not reside with God but with Satan and/or man; that is, people may speak of the murder of the Lord Jesus Christ as by God the Father in an ultimate sense and it is so stated through human expression; however, no one denies that both Gentile and Jew were used as second causes to put the Blameless Lamb of God to death; that is, the issue of blame touching sin resides with man not God!
Chapter 5: Insanity and Irrationality
Spiritual insanity resides with the nature of man; that is, by nature he is guilty of spiritual insanity concerning the things of God touching the Word of God; however, it is possible for an unconverted person to learn the things of God but never attaining to the truth; that is, before my spiritually awakening I wrote 531-page dissertation on the Christian faith but I did not believe; however, people also may give weak evidence of their faith through their knowledge and deeds.
Spiritual irrationality resides with the nature of man; however, those with a head knowledge of Christ without a heart born by the Spirit are left in some level of spiritual irrationality; that is, spiritual insanity is the basis of spiritual irrationality; however, the insanity is mere sin against a holy and just God, and the irrationality could take many forms but usually it underestimates the very nature of man in spiritual self-destructiveness.
Chapter 6: Nathanael’s Gospel
Have you met Nathanael? Yeah, he is that man over there! He just spoke to the Messiah, and He said he is one without deceit! Let me tell you about him; that is, his integrity is witnessed by Incarnate Truth itself; however, there are few Nathanael’s in our day; that is, he comes without deceit with the glistening truth in his mouth and the good book in his hand; however, the church has just about thrown him out in the local church of Jesus’ home town; that is, it’s such a mean town that they only want to hear the pleasing things that make them grow away from Christ; however, Nathanael comes with a head of true knowledge of the unified imputed righteousness of the Almighty Christ, and with a heart of the Spirit and God’s Word that speaks of a Gospel-lover who is truly without deceit! Have you seen Nathanael? Maybe you have even spoken to him; that is, did you hear how consistent his words are with his deeds? The Most High Nazarene says the Gospel-holders must be a Nathanael!
Chapter 7: Effectual Calling
The effectual calling is the sovereign regeneration of the Holy Spirit; that is, man remains passive and without spiritual cooperation; however, the Spirit makes him willing by the grace of His power in changing his heart of stone; that is, He also applies the work of Christ in His sinless life and death, and upon the basis of Christ alone, the sinner is forgiven for all things; however, there is no spiritual goodness in man because he lacks complete and divine righteousness; that is, the work of regeneration is by the Spirit working with the Word but apart from a libertarian free will; however, when Christians believe we do so through our changed wills, because now our will is given a new disposition for Christ and the true things of God by the Holy Spirit and His Word. Amen.
Chapter 8: Destructive Doom
The doom of the pre-converted elect is manifested when the Spirit profoundly reveals our state of sin and misery before a holy and just God; that is, we are in dread of God’s holy wrath and we flee and fly to Christ the Inherent One; however, the doom of the final reprobates is a dreadism and a terrorism to the lawless sinner in light of God’s holiness; that is, the destruction of sin culminates in the destruction of hell for every doomed sinner; however, before Jacob and Esau were born God spoke of their eternal destinations; that is, Jacob was meant for love in heaven and Esau was meant for hatred in hell; however, the love of God rescues the elect of God through the Lord Jesus Christ but the hatred of God casts the guilty sinner down to hell; that is, people often times think of the hatred of God against sinners as unthinkable but doesn’t even the rebellious sinner hate certain people? How much more a God of holiness and justice against sin! (Psalms 97:10, “Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked” KJV).
Chance came upon the scene
And convinced the learners of doubt
An invisible hand was behind the scene
And directed life and liberty so free
Freeness was obscured through freeness
And bondage unknown was kept in its lurking woe
But the freedom of Him who saves
Is greater then the will of works
The Wind blows upon the heart with warmness
And a heart is remade for glory
Stains remain in empty souls
And doom’s destiny purchased out of flames of woe
Amen, amen and amen.
