The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Spiritual Salvation Is In the Gospel

Spiritual redemption is in the gospel or the good news of Jesus Christ.  It is the power of God unto spiritual salvation (Romans 1:16).  It is about the life, death and resurrection of Christ alone.  The Bible says if someone preaches a different gospel let him be accursed (Galatians 1:9).

We need the life and death of Christ alone for our spiritual salvation.  How do we know if we should accept the life and death of Christ alone?  It is because of Jesus' resurrection.  We have a sign from the Lord Christ that His unified merit is good for us to trust.  There is no accomplishment like the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  There is no other human accomplishment that equals it in any way.  There is no miracle done by mere saints that could equal Jesus' bodily resurrection.  This is why Jesus' unified merit is enough for how we are right with a holy God.

Rome preaches a different gospel.  She demands additional requirements to spiritual salvation.  She requires the church membership (CCC 846), purgatory (CCC 1030), sacraments (CCC 1129), baptism (CCC 1256), meritorious masses (CCC 1405) and indulgences (CCC 1498).

There essentially two religions in the world; that is, there is the self-religion that relies on ourselves and there is the true religion of Christ alone.  If we rely on ourselves, we will not achieve spiritual salvation.  Grace is free and never to be worked for.  Grace is the work of Christ alone; that is, it is all-sufficient, all-appeasing, and all-necessary for how we are right with God.  We do not need our works to save us.
