The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Salvation, Merit and Grace

We ought to understand that spiritual salvation is undeserved and by grace alone.  Christians are undeservedly justified by His grace (see Romans 3:24).  We are not justified by our works but by grace alone (Romans 11:6).  Rome denies that we are undeservedly justified in God's sight.  She adds personal "merit" to save the soul of a human being.

Rome denies the all-sufficiency of God's grace alone.  They speak about the graces needed to be right with God but add merit for themselves "to attain eternal life" (CCC 2027).  Eternal life is only through the life and death of Christ alone; that is, this is the all-necessary and all-sufficient merit needed to enter eternal life.  Amen.
