"Without a single sin to retrain her, she gave herself entirely to the person and work of her son; she did so in order to serve the mystery of redemption with Him...being obedient she became the cause of salvation for herself and for the whole human race" (CCC 494).The Bible clearly and plainly teaches that Jesus Christ is our sinless Redeemer! The simplicity of the gospel or glad tidings of Jesus Christ is that we look to Him alone for spiritual salvation. Rome makes inferences from Scripture but these are more of personal insight than biblical truth. Rome makes a cosmic leap of blind faith in the Virgin Mary. No where in the Bible does it say that she is "without a single sin." It is a nice idea at best but at worst it will cost the human person his soul. We dare not equivalent Mary with Jesus, because only Jesus Christ was sinless. There is no doubt that Mary was devoted to her Son! However, she was a sinner saved by grace alone like all of us. She cries out for a Savior in the Gospel of Luke. If someone needs a Savior, they must be a sinner. Someone who is sinless does not need a Savior. The cause of spiritual salvation was God the Spirit not the Virgin Mary. Saying that Mary is co-redeemerix is like adding a god besides Almighty God. Let us look at what the Bible says about Jesus being the only Redeemer for the human race. It never adds someone else along side the Redeemer Who is God alone:
1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
