We are faced with the question of how we will be remembered in this life after we die. The saints of the Bible caused us to be inspired throughout time. If we are committed to Christ, it is amazing what God can do. Shall we be like them? Shall we honor the Lord wholeheartedly?
David followed God with his whole heart. David exalted the Lord. We ought to follow the Lord’s plans in our life. We ought to be governed by His plans not ours. We ought to have our interests defined by God’s purposes. We ought to love Him without reservation. We ought to pursue God’s lovely heart. In this we find it the best to love God.
Can we know we are following God with all our hearts? The first goal of our life ought to be a personal relationship with the Lord. We ought to make it the highest priority in our daily walk with Him. David loved Scripture because it taught Him about God. David sought God for strength and wisdom and protection. We ought to have our trust in the Lord in all problems. David never waved in his trust before God. He placed his trust in the Lord. David was provoked in his spirit on how Goliath dishonored God’s name. David placed his confidence in the Lord and the Lord delivered David out of every problem he faced. David had trust in God and leadership to govern the people of his day.
Do we have a desire to obey God? Is it passionate? Is it strong? David was a man after God’s own heart. David loved to accomplish the Lord’s plan for him. We should not let obedience to be motivated by the fear of sin’s consequences. David loved and trusted God and submitted to the Lord with his whole heart. David was obedient to God.
We ought to be covered and clothed with humility. A person with a heart for God is a humble person. David would pray prayers of humility. David demonstrated the heart of a servant, slave and friend of God. It is key to be trusting of the Lord in our walk with Him. We may daily fall and have besetting sins. The Lord is faithful and true, He will help us along the way. Let us show the world that we trust and obey the good Lord. Amen.
