The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

Have You Been Born Again? The Witnessing Spirit, Part 7

6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  (Philippians 4:6-8).

We ought to righteously petition our Lord for anything on our hearts.  Something small is fine to bring to the throne of God, or something of great importance.  We ought not to hold back on things that pertain to prayer.  We ought to tell God our hearts desire and live with His peace in our lives.  Let us grow in our relationship with our Heavenly Father through His Son by His Spirit.  May we give thanks to the Lord that He hears our prayers.  Every Christian is a praying Christian.  That is, someone cannot be a Christian and not pray.  It is surely a necessity to pray as a Christian soldier for Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.  We ought to pray because it brings peace to our hearts.  We ought to pray in a manner worthy of the Gospel.  May we commit our hearts unto Him and He shall keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  If we tell Him, what is on our hearts it surely brings peace.  The heart and mind of a Christian ought to have the centrality of the Word of God Who is Jesus Christ.  In the context of prayer let us do whatsoever is right and holy and good in His sight.  We ought not to trust our prayer life as evidence of salvation but surely anyone who does not pray is surely not a Christian.  However, the evidence of knowing someone’s belongs to Jesus our Lord is the Spirit witnessing with our spirits that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God”).  Are you "bananas" for Jesus Christ?   May I ask, are you born again?  Do you have the Spirit witnessing with your spirit that you are a child of God?  Would Jesus say that you have the peace of the Spirit?  Ponder on this for God’s glory alone.  Amen.
