The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! Have You Been Born Again? We Must Overcome the World, Part 5

     Those who are born again overcome the world (First John 5:4).  We ought not to use the world's standard of right and wrong.  We ought to go against the world's ways.  We ought not to let man's opinion sway us away from God and His most holy Word.  We ought to overcome the love of the world.  We ought not to find pleasure in things that bring happiness to the people of the world; however, we should find happiness in the will of God.  The happiness of the world seems foolish to us and unworthy of God.  We ought to love God's praise over against man's praises.  We ought to fear offending God over against offending man.  We should find it unimportant if we are blamed or praised, but we ought to praise God.  Would Jesus say you are born again?  Have you been born again?  Let us praise God for His unspeakable gift of eternal life!  Amen.
