The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

The Fear of Respect to God

We ought to fear God in terms of respecting Him, because He is our Heavenly Father.  He loves us through His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ.  We ought to have the fear of respect and not torment before our Triune Lord.  We would seek to please Him if we had the fear of respect toward Him.  We ought not to fear God in terms of torment because He has preciously redeemed us; saved us; and purchased us.  We are not our own but we have been bought with a price, the price of the Cross.  Do you seek to please God out of a wonderful respect for Him?  Or do you see God as a tormentor of your soul?  We must look at God with faith and through faith we behold a God who is forgiving without damnation or judgment.  If something is not of faith it is sin.  We must fear God because we seek to please Him.  The fear of God should encompass us to faithfully repent of our sins in a mindset of true devotion to Him.  Can you say you have the fear of respect to Him to please Him?   Or do you have doubts because you have feared damnation?  Everyone who has trusted Christ is born from above with the secret of the fear of God.  The fear of God is given to His favorites and those people are the elect.  May you fear God this day in a respect of Him that yields abundant fruit.  Amen.
