The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. It is Jesus' favorite title of Himself. I chosen this title because Jesus loved this title of Himself. We ought to never forget that Jesus is fully God and fully man: two natures in One Person. He is the God-man, the Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity. May we mediate on His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension that we may be conformed to the image of the divine Son of Man! This blog web site will be a Christian defense of the Reformed doctrines of the Incarnate Son of Man. May all glory be to His name!

The Authenticity of Sanctification, Part 3

This is a clear doctrine to us, is it not?  For practical purposes a vessel cup, alter or instrument was sanctified for holy worship it was never used for common or ordinary purpose again.  Only the priest could drink the golden cup.  They couldn’t trifle with the altar.  They brazier laver was not for the act of washing the body; a purification of water.  The tongs on the alter and the snuffers for the maps were never to be profaned for common use.  This is a solemn fast.  This means our purpose is sanctification in God the Father to us, and it is not meant for ourselves.  We are not our own but we were bought with a price.  We must, however, be diligent in business fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.  We ought not to serve the will or the eye of pleasure but serve the Lord.  All must be done in the name of the Lord to the glory of God.  The Christian is set apart for service but not for common use; just like the alter was no more for common use.   No believer should live himself because it is a sacrilege, or to live unto the world.  We ought not to use the holy for common use.  These things are God’s and we must be used for Him.  We are God’s men, Christ’s men and servants and friends of Christ.  We are not to do our own works or our own objectives.  God for bid that I would glory except Christ and His Cross.  Some Christians have never understood this.  Christ did buy a part of you but He purchased them unto His merciful glory. He brought you out of the kingdom of darkness and purchased the whole man.  If He purchased you partly, you would live to yourselves but God has brought you wholly because you’re fitted for use.  We are vessels of mercy fitted for sanctification.  We are not common cups but bowels of the alter in His mercy.
